Finally, summer is here, the temperatures are rising both in Moscow and in Berlin. A great time to relax, go swimming and maybe eat some ice-cream?
Well, not exactly. Everyone at German Studies Russia is still busy. The students are gathering new experiences and applying their knowledge in their respective internships. They are working at different organizations, both in the business world and political institution, as well in Moscow and in Germany.
And of course the GSR-team is working on different tasks in Berlin. On the one hand, we are preparing everything for those of the students, who will receive a scholarship and spend the next winter semester at Freie Universität Berlin. They will complete their studies, train their level of German in practice and of course get a firsthand experience of the country that has been the center of their studies for the last year. Many things still need to be prepared before they can safely arrive in October 2015: accommodation needs to be found, documents for visas issued and many more things.
But there are other tasks as well: in the beginning of September there will be a ceremony for the successful graduates of the year 2014/2015. Until then we still need to prepare the yearbooks, filled with the memories of the students and teachers, as well as the framework of the ceremony. We are looking very much forward to the festive celebration for our students. Besides the students there will also be invitations for their instructors and our partners at MGIMO (University).
Despite the work, the next month will also be a period of gathering new strengths and ideas for the coming turn, starting in September. We are already looking forward to welcoming the new students!
